The Witches of Salix Pointe: Something Wicked This Way Comes, Book 2 by Noelle Vella

A Review By: SY

Now that Tasmin Pettiford and Elisa Hunte have discovered they are witches, one would think life would be smoother for them.

Unfortunately, it’s never that easy.

After nearly perishing at the hands of Archangel Michael and his equally powerful wife, they soon realize that an even bigger threat is in Salix Pointe…one that seeks to destroy them by any means necessary.

The witches also have to grapple with the realization that Octavian’s parents killed so many people close to them. Not to mention that Aunt Noreen was betrayed by one of their own coven members, Mary Ann Howard.

Then there are the epic, life-altering family secrets and lies. To battle the ancient evil that’s coming, Elisa and Tasmin will have to put their differences aside and band together with those who betrayed them in order to not only save their lives, but those of the people of Salix Pointe.

Now that Tasmin Pettiford and Elisa Hunte have discovered they are witches, one would think life would be smoother for them. Unfortunately, it's never that easy.

Book one of the series led up to plenty of drama during All Hallow's Eve in the mysterious Salix Pointe; book two takes us through Christmas time in the little town, and the gang is all here to continue the fun. In this installment, fairies, vampires, and the ever-entertaining "Demon Daddy" make appearances, thickening the plot. With a smooth storytelling style, Noelle Vella provides a strong description of otherworldly beings, so that readers who don't typically consume paranormal can follow the plot lines easily.

Hazel Addison and Hollace Williams provide superb performances, flexing their acting skills consistently throughout the book, making it a great time for the listener. They created voice distinctions between the characters that make it easy to follow the dialogue and narrative. Fingers crossed that they continue to lend their performances to the much-anticipate audio for book three.

Finally, recognition must be given to the team at Nubian Audio, producer for this series. Attention to detail was definitely paid, as the duet narration style was stitched together seamlessly, and the result is top-tier audio quality.
